FAQs
Common questions
How does the process work from first contact to finished install?
I start with a free site survey, I come out to your home, assess the chimney, flue route and hearth, and discuss what you're looking for. From there I provide a fixed written quote covering all the work. Once you're happy to proceed, we agree an installation date. On the day I protect the work area, carry out the full install and leave the site clean and tidy. Every installation is certificated
How much does a stove or fireplace installation cost?
Every project is different, the cost depends on the type of appliance, the condition of the existing chimney, the flue liner required and any building work needed. Rather than guess over the phone, I prefer to carry out a free site survey first and then give you a clear fixed written quote. That way you know exactly what's included and there are no surprises on the day.
Are you Gas Safe and HETAS registered?
Yes. I'm registered with both Gas Safe (for gas fireplace installations) and HETAS (for solid fuel and wood burning appliances). This means every installation I carry out is legally compliant and certificated. All work is also fully insured for your peace of mind.
How long does installation typically take?
A standard wood burning stove or multifuel stove installation, including the flue liner, hearth and connection, typically takes around three to four hours on the day. More complex projects involving twin wall systems or significant building work may take longer. I'll give you a realistic timeframe when I provide your quote so you can plan accordingly.
Can you help with grants or are there finance options available?
Certain energy-efficient heating upgrades may be eligible for government schemes depending on your circumstances and the type of appliance being installed. I'd recommend checking the current GOV.UK guidance on energy grants before your survey. I'm happy to discuss what's available and point you in the right direction during our site visit.
